A powerful evening under the lights, in front of the impressive mountain peak. The lights were forming for quite some time after two hours I waited there, but they would not appear where I wanted them to be. I had to be really patient and not to give up to get this shot. Standing in the river and with -12 degrees outside, the legs of my tripod froze so I could not adjust my height correctly for the next hour of shooting forcing me to adapt. This is night life in the Arctic. Senja Island - Northern Norway. The Conditions Needed: Orientation - SOUTH EAST Aurora Intensity -MODERATE-STRONG Moon - FULL
Living 350km above the arctic circle brought me so much these last months and years. Taking guests from the other side of the planet, friends or love ones, out under the green magic is always so unique. Exploring your backyard never gets old, looking for clear skies, embracing the cold winds, the nature and beauty of the green dancers is something i can never get tired of. My passion for photography increased enormously since i discovered the auroras, and keeps on amazing me every single time i step out. Big thanks to my friends for supporting my passion madness and crazy shooting ideas.. For those who know Northern Norway, you will for sure recognize these shapes, but this is a shot which brought me creativity, depth, composition, and luck. Tromso Area - Northern Norway - The Conditions Needed: Orientation- NORTH - NORTH WEST Aurora Intensity - LOW Moon - FULL
This composition has been completely improvised as lights came from South right behind my back. The few icy rocks forming a pier on my left side ended up being a perfect contrast balance between my shadows, and the shape of lights escaping from the fisherman's house.
